Paper flower engineering

http://www.craftykylie.com/2016/04/international-blog-highlight-theme-love.html

Welcome if you are visiting from Kylie Bertucci's International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight. The theme is Love and although it is a birthday card it is for my Mum and Mums deserve extra special cards don't they to show our love, and this one was an extra special one!

It was a real explosion of pink flowers, and I love the combination of Melon Mambo, Basic Grey, Smokey Slate and Basic Black, with a few crystals of course.

As you can see the flowers spring out of the card with nothing to support them. The trick is extremely tiny spots of wet glue on the tips of the petals and hold together until they stick. I use the Stampin Up Tombow Liquid Multipurpose glue as it has such a quick 'grab' time and it is super strong. Of course the quality of the card is important too so it doesn't sag or wilt.  I love the effect though and it makes such a statement card.

Let me know what you think about it and if you've tried something similar.

I'm entering this into Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlight under the theme of love.  I'd love if you would go over and vote for me on:  http://www.craftykylie.com/2016/04/international-blog-highlight-theme-love.html

I love the quote below that shows how much love is put into a homemade card!

Hope you like it - my Mum loved it!  Phew...

A tree for a friend - blog hop

http://www.craftykylie.com/2016/03/international-blog-highlight-theme.html

Hi there and welcome if you are joining me from Kylie Bertucci's International Stampin' Up! Blog Hop!

The theme is thank you cards and I've recently remade this card, both for a friend to pass onto another friend who needed it, and for me to give to some very good friends of mine. They are so kind and generous to me, and to me they are very much sheltering tree and deserve so much gratitude! I don't know what I'd do without them, especially when I'm ill and they help me out.  They also really make me laugh, and laughter really is the best medicine!

A card doesn't need 'thanks' on the front to express the sentiment does it?

I hope you love the simplicity of the card as much as I do. I'm so relieved this stamp set isn't relieved this stamp set isn't retiring ... Yay!

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Balloons

So I really wasn't going to buy the balloon stamps and punches from the spring/summer catalogue, p13, but I kept seeing so many wonderful examples that I caved and bought the bundle. The fact that it also coordinates with the extra Sale-A-Bration set Party Pants didn't help either as I only needed an extra £12 to make it up to £45 to get the free set as well. So weak-willed where Stampin Up is concerned but I cannot resist a bargain!  I've now had chance to play with them and here are a few of my examples:

Oh and a matching gift - a notepad in a bag! I love the combination of O;d Olive and gold. Something very 1920s about the colour combination. I think you'll be seeing more balloons too!

Hope you like them!
